Using Routava
Slovensky: Podmienky používania
In short
- Routava is free. It helps you notice a missing vignette; it does not replace one, and it can be wrong or late.
- You remain responsible for having a valid vignette and for driving safely. Do not handle your phone while driving.
1. Who provides Routava
The Routava app and the website routava.app are provided by Viallo s. r. o., Šustekova 3697/49, 851 04 Bratislava – Petržalka, Slovakia, IČO 57 859 043 ("we"). Contact: hello@viallo.solutions. By using the app or the website you accept these terms.
2. What Routava does
- It checks whether the plates you enter have a valid vignette in Slovakia, Czechia, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Switzerland and Bulgaria, by asking a source for each country (listed in the privacy policy). For Romania and Moldova you enter the dates yourself.
- It warns you on the phone, the watch and the car's screen before you drive into a country where a car of yours has no vignette, and reminds you before a vignette runs out.
- It links to the official shops. Routava itself sells nothing.
The app is free of charge. There is no account and no subscription.
3. What Routava cannot promise
- The answers come from others. A source can be unavailable, slow or wrong, or change how it works. "Valid", "no vignette" and "not checked" are what the source said at the time shown in the app.
- Warnings depend on your phone and on map data. They need location permission, a position fix, notifications allowed and enough battery. Routava warns on the roads its map data follows to a border (from OpenStreetMap); on other roads it tells you when you have crossed. A warning can come late or not at all.
- Fines are indicative. Amounts shown come from the authorities' published figures, with the date they were checked; real fines and rules can differ and change.
- We may change, pause or end the service, or any country's check, at any time.
4. Your responsibility
- You are responsible for having a valid vignette (or toll) for every road you use, and for obeying traffic law.
- Set the app up before you drive. Do not look at or handle the phone while driving; use the car's screen and the spoken alerts only as the law and safety allow.
- Enter only plates you are entitled to check, such as your own car or one you drive, and use Routava only for its purpose. Do not misuse, overload or copy the check service.
5. Liability
Routava is provided free of charge and as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for fines, tolls, costs or other losses arising from an answer, a warning or a reminder that was wrong, late or missing, or from the service being unavailable. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, in particular for intent, gross negligence, or harm to life, body or health, nor your rights as a consumer.
6. Data and open data
How we handle data is set out in the privacy policy. Border and road data: © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL).
7. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the version in force is published here with its date. Slovak law applies, without taking away the protection that the mandatory law of the country where you live gives you as a consumer. If we cannot settle a complaint with you, as a consumer you can turn to an alternative dispute resolution body; in Slovakia that is the Slovak Trade Inspection (Slovenská obchodná inšpekcia, soi.sk).
